The Rural Economy and Agricultural Society of Sweden in Halland

After more than a year of continuous use, The Rural Economy and Agricultural Society of Halland (Hushållningssällskapet Halland) reports unprecedented success in protecting farmland from wild boar, deer, geese, crows, and other wildlife — using Flox’s adaptive, AI-powered bioacoustics.

Unlike conventional deterrents — which they have seen animals often learn to ignore within days or weeks — Flox’s adaptive system continues working month after month, adjusting its signals to keep animals on alert. Now, local wildlife seems to even have learned to avoid fields at the very sight of Flox equipment.

At the heart of the project is Håkan Cajander, Senior Project Manager at Hushållningssällskapet Halland. Håkan has spearheaded the integration of Flox technology as part of his mission to equip farmers with effective, sustainable tools that boost yields while protecting the environment.

“I’ve tested countless innovations, and most lose their edge quickly as animals adapt,” said Håkan.

“But with Flox tailor-made bioacoustics we have been using, it’s the opposite — after a year, it’s still as effective as day one. The animals have even learned to stay away the moment they notice Flox in the field.”

Flox’s system gently deters a variety of wildlife and triggers instinctive flight responses. Its adaptive AI continuously evolves these deterrents, ensuring long-term effectiveness without chemicals, fencing, or constant human presence.

Founded in 1791, Hushållningssällskapet is a farmer-led organization working to strengthen rural economies, improve agricultural practices, and promote sustainability. Hushållningssällskapet Halland supports over 2,400 farmer members, providing advisory services, innovation projects, and cutting-edge trials to help farms thrive in an evolving agricultural landscape.

The collaboration between Flox and Hushållningssällskapet Halland is set to continue, expanding into new test sites and applications to further support sustainable farming in the region.

“This isn’t just about keeping wildlife out,” Håkan added. “It’s about finding solutions that work for farmers and nature, year after year.”
